 April 2020

Regretfully, St Oswald's is now closed for services and group meetings until further notice. Along with other churches, all weddings and baptisms have been cancelled. We will contact wedding couples when we have more information. Contact can still be made by phone to the Parish Office 01691 652861 as calls are being redirected, or by email  stoswald.office@gmail.com

SEE OUR CORONAVIRUS PAGE FOR FURTHER INFORMATION including the  weekly Newsheet.

SERVICES  can be viewed on the  SERVICES page or on Facebook at

 https://www.facebook.com/stoswaldsoswestry/

SEE OUR PRAYER REQUEST PAGE. We have set up a  Prayer Board for requests for prayer. This is like the pebble bowl and notice board by the font in church. The page will be visible to the public, so it's up to you and those prayed for how anonymous you want to be. Prayer requests should be sent to stoswald.prayers@gmail.com  (This will have to be copied to your own email sender, it cannot be done from here)

THE JUNE PARISH MAGAZINE CAN BE DOWNLOADED AS A PDF BY CLICKING THE LINK

Given the current circumstances there will be no printed magazine unless people expressly request one, so please do tell the people you speak to. If you are aware of someone who normally receives a copy and cannot access the internet please let Frances know stoswald.office@gmail.com Tel: 656208.

TO ALL SUPPORTERS OF  THE SCHOOLS CHRISTIAN WORKER PROJECT

Dear Christian friends,

As you will understand, because of the national emergency, our regular breakfast-time prayer meetings for the Project are cancelled until further notice.  That does not mean that prayer will cease, and we are still grateful to all those churches who had kindly agreed to host the meetings.

If you have seen the prayer diary which Jane, our Schools Worker, published for April 2020, you will know that she requests general prayer for four groups together with prayers for specific schools during that month.  She writes:

Please pray for

  • Young people as they get to grips with learning from home and not seeing their friends.
  • Teachers that are still working in the schools, providing sessions for those whose parents are key workers.
  • Parents who may feel inadequate to help their children learn from home.
  • Young people with learning difficulties who may be struggling with anxiety and change.

Lakelands School, The Marches School, St Martins School, North Shropshire College, Weston Rhyn Primary School, Morda Primary School, Selattyn Primary School, Trefonen Primary School, Bryn Offa Primary School, Whittington Primary School, The Meadows Primary School, Criftins Primary School, Cockshutt  Primary School, Moreton Hall School, Oswestry School, Ellesmere Primary School, Welshampton Primary School, Gobowen Primary School, Holy Trinity Primary School, Woodside Primary School, West Felton Primary School, Kinnerley Primary School.

Thank you for your continuing support.

May God bless you

Alan Braddock,
