St. Oswald's Church has a long tradition of fine music in the liturgy.
Choral Services are sung most Sundays the exceptions being:-
- Sunday between Christmas and Epiphany
- The two Sundays after Easter
- From mid-July to the 2nd Sunday in September. However, the Choir returns for the 1st Sunday in August which is kept as our Patronal Festival (Feast of St. Oswald - actual day 5th August)
- The 1st Sunday of school half term weeks
We welcome applications from choirs to sing the services during the Choir holidays.
St. Oswald's Choir is one of a few in Shropshire that can routinely sing the music of the Anglican cathedral and collegiate church repertoire and is the only one that has a soprano line solely made up of young voices.
For details of the choir please see the relevant pages
We offer 2 chorister scholarships each year at Oswestry School, carrying a substantial remission of fees. For details see the page on chorister scholarships.
